I am working on understanding the interplay of membrane lipid composition and cytoskeletal activity in regulating the heterogeneity in biophysical properties of the membrane. In particular, I am developing probes to look at the order of the leaflets of the membrane that have an asymmetric composition. With the information revealed by such tools, we aim to understand the consequences of a fine-tuned composition that is acted upon by membrane juxtaposed actomyosin network on information processing via the membrane.
