I started my scientific journey studying Immunobiology of Mesenchymal Stem Cells at the Manipal Insitute of Regenerative Medicine with Dr. Jyothi Prasanna. Some of my adventures there eventually led me to the fascinating world of lipid biology. Now, in the Mayor Lab, my research combines lipidomics and transcriptomics to map how the plasma membrane lipidome evolves during adipocyte differentiation. I am particularly interested in the biophysical properties of these lipids and how they shape the membrane. I also investigate how these lipids influence insulin receptor action and spatialorganisation at the plasma membrane, which I study using high-resolution microscopy. I enjoy creating visuals of my work to bring my research to life. I thouroughly enjoy developing and optimising assays and also writing grants !

When I am not reading about lipid metabolism or the insulin receptor, you will usually find me reading about geography (I would like to think that I might have been a geographer had I not chosen Biology as my majors 😊 ) or getting lost in the meditative process of zentangling.
